Bitcoin on Ethereum Coin BTC20 Price Pumps 600% 48 Hours After … – Cryptonews

Bitcoin on Ethereum Coin BTC20 has seen its price explode 600% 48 hours after launch, with 10x gains imminent. As crypto traders start to pile into the hot coin, it is on course to hit a market cap of $100 million.

The BTC20 stake-to-earn coin mirrors the tokenomics of Bitcoin and is currently priced at $4.06, up more than 300% after listing for $1; the price has already briefly touched $6 for a 600% return, setting a marker for the near-term price target today.

Meanwhile, at the last count, 3,930,621 tokens of the 6,050,000 in circulation have been staked, amounting to 65% of the circulating supply, according to the latest BTC20 website real-time dashboard data.

The remaining tokens of the 21 million total supply are locked for paying out rewards the annual percentage yield is currently 66.97%.

BTC20 simulates the block rewards on Bitcoin from 2011, which stood at 50 BTC per block produced. BTC20 rewards accrue every 10 minutes and can be claimed a minimum of seven days after first staking. Staking began operation last Wednesday at 3pm UTC.

After a lunch day that saw the BTC20 price establish a solid floor at $1, likely due to the stability that its yield-bearing tokenomics provide, it began to gird high yesterday and then exploded in parabolic fashion.

Deep-pocketed whales are entering the market. One such buyer, with a wallet valued at nearly $2 million, has started building a position in BTC20, which is presently a modest sum of $6,049.

Such buyers will no doubt keep entering the market on near-term dips as they look to gains that could reach as high as 100x for a $1 billion market cap.

Since yesterday (Saturday) afternoon in the European session, BTC20 has been trending in the top 10 on top data and trading sites for decentralized exchanges, DEXTools. In the past hour, it has taken the No.1 spot as FOMO kicks in:

The token holder count has swelled to 3,922, 24-hour trading volume spiked over $3 million, and locked liquidity on Uniswap V2, registering $347k.

On the Uniswap V3 trading pair (BTC20/SDEX), where liquidity providers can command higher fees than the 0.3% on V2, the liquidity pool has reached $369k and 24-hour trading volume $661k.

Impressively 87.89% of the liquidity on Uniswap V2 has been locked, so there are no worries about the project being a rug pull.

On the contrary, BTC20 ($Bitcoin20) is gearing up to be the top Bitcoin derivative coin launch of the year, beating the likes of BTC 2.0 and HPOS10I (which has the BITCOIN ticker on Uniswap).

On the 4-hour price chart, the price trajectory points to a 10x gain by the seventh day of trading, on Wednesday, August 16, which is when the first stakers have the option of unlocking their coins.

Market participants will be watching that key milestone closely to see how token holders behave, given that the majority of the circulating supply is tied up in staking.

However, to realize the full APY return potential requires staking for 12 months. Bearing in mind that many probably opted for staking based on a long-term commitment to the project, it is a fair assessment that many will continue to lock up their coins to earn passive income.

Of course, others will be concerned with capital preservation and want to take some profits on their initial outlay, while leaving a portion of their tokens to continue to earn yield.

Token holders who want to continue staking simply leave their tokens in the staking smart contract, and the smart contract automatically accumulates the rewards until such time as the staking ends.

While some will come off stake entirely, that is likely to be more than balanced by buying demand underpinned by several factors.

Firstly, the attractive APY will bring more buyers to BTC20. If the overall number of stakers/amount staked falls, the APY will rise, enticing more passive income investors to buy and stake the token. Indeed, the team says they are introducing an easy-to-use buy and stake button next week.

Secondly, the biggest advert for a coin is its price history and prospects. On that score, BTC20 will be pulling in more buyers as the coin continues to trend on popular crypto data sites.

Speaking of data sites, BTC20 will soon be listed on top crypto sites Coinmarketcap and CoinGecko. When that happens, hundreds of thousands more market participants will become aware of the coin and start buying and adding it to their watchlists.

A third factor is the prospect of a centralized exchange listing. Although the team says there are no listing plans in the works, at least according to the communications on the Telegram group, that does not stop CEXs from listing the coin off their own back.

Due to the keen competition among CEXs for business, their teams keep a close eye on market developments for hot trending coins pulling in significant trading volume BTC20 is one such coin.

Trading volume on Uniswap is about $4 million in the past 24 hours. Now that the coin is trending as a hot pair on sites such as DEXTools, and will no doubt will soon be listed on CMC and CG, volumes will likely mushroom, and the price resume its parabolic assent as new money floods in.

The larger the trading volume and number of token holders, the more likely top CEXs such as OKX and Binance are to list the coin.

Aside from its robust tokenomics, and the off-chain news flow identified above, there are also the marketing efforts of the BTC20 team to help to pump the price higher.

Crypto analyst Michael Wrubel with 310k YouTube subscribers, has already predicted BTC20 will start minting millionaires it looks like he was on the mark. We should look forward to the folks at BTC20 to begin working with even more prominent influencers in the coming days.

So far, the marketing has been pitch-perfect. BTC20s market positioning as Bitcoin on Ethereum appeals to all those people who missed out on the various bull runs that Bitcoin has been on since its inception, and thats a lot of people.

Token holders can expect a widening digital marketing push in the crypto industry, targeting popular sites such as CMC, DexTools, Dexscreener, and banner ads on popular news websites.

Telegram alpha groups are also beginning to stir, so expect the crypto Twittersphere to explode with mentions of BTC20, further building FOMO around the new coin.

Another coin getting in on the version 2 theme is the XRP20 coin, currently in presale. Although XRP20 is not affiliated with Ripple or XRP, its launch is inspired by those efforts.

Similarly to BTC20, it is also innovating with staking, allowing XRP20 token holders to earn rewards from staking the token. YouTube experts are forecasting 10x returns for early investors in the coin.

It also has a price-supportive deflationary burn mechanism, which will encourage prospective buyers to take a look.

The new coin has raised $2.3 million of its $3.6 million hard-cap target, and the run rate is expected to speed up as investors in the low-cap crypto arena note the success of BTC20 and look for similar possible ten-bagger targets.

BTC20 has plenty more runway ahead for huge gains, but so too could XRP20 and it is still in presale at a lowly price of 0.000092, 30x below XRPs all-time low.

Mining 1 BTC in Lebanon is 783x cheaper than Italy: CoinGecko – Cointelegraph

There is a significant worldwide contrast in household electricity expenses for individual Bitcoin (BTC)miners. While producing one Bitcoin in Italy costs $208,560, in Lebanon, its roughly 783 times cheaper, according to a recent report.

Published on Aug. 17, CoinGeckos reportrevealed that only 65 countries are profitable for solo Bitcoin miners, based solely on household electricity costs. Among these, 34 countries are in Asia, while Europe only has five.

However, solo Bitcoin miners find themselves at odds with the worldwide average of household electricity costs:

The report identified Italy as the costliest country for household Bitcoin mining at $208,560 per Bitcoin. As of the time of publication, this indicates that the cost of mining one Bitcoin in Italy is the equivalent to the value of approximately eight Bitcoins.

This was followed by Austria at $184,352, and Belgium at $172,382.

Meanwhile, Lebanons household electricity rates allow individual miners to generate one Bitcoin for just $266. Based on this data, this is approximately 783 times cheaper than the cost to mine a Bitcoin in Italy, priced at $208,560.

Iran followed, with a production cost of $532 per Bitcoin. However, despite Iran legalizing Bitcoin mining in 2019, the country has since banned legal operations on several occasions, citing stress on energy grids during winter.

On Jan. 4, Cointelegraph reported that approximately 150,000 pieces of crypto mining equipment was seized by Irans Organization for Collection and Sale of State-Owned Property (OCSSOP).

Related: Bitcoin mining researchers claim new tech ups winning hash chance by 260%

On Aug. 19, Binance CEO Changpeng "CZ" Zhao posted a screenshot of this report's data on X (formerly Twitter), questioning his 8.6 million followers why individuals in these countries with low electricity wouldn't mine Bitcoin.

However, CZ remained skeptical and believes there might be more factors to think about. Yet, he suggested it's worth exploring further:

CZ acknowledged an X user who explained that many of these countries lack sufficient electricity for them to make the most of the cheap electricity costs.

Most of these countries are facing a shortage of electricity and usually turn off their heavy industries in the summer or during peak hours the X user stated.

How to Become a Data Analyst | SNHU – Southern New Hampshire University

Large companies of all types use data daily to decide how to market what movies or music or shopping experience consumers might like to enjoy next. And while raw data can provide a lot of information, it takes someone skilled in interpreting that datato make the information useful to a business.

Data, at its simplest, is a collection of information. That information can be used as a basis for drawing reasonable conclusions. Those conclusions can help solve business needs.

When facts are gathered and interpreted, and those interpretations are shared in an accessible way, they can tell a story about a consumer and their interests. Data analysis is the telling of that story.

If you want a meaningful career gathering data and interpreting that information to help a business or organization thrive, a career in data analytics could be a great fit for you.

Data analysts gather and interpret data to tell a story. Businesses of all types can then use that story to sell products or content, create new products or content or market goods or services to consumers.

"By collecting, cleaning and interpreting data sets, data analysts make recommendations for business decisions and help solve business problems," said Susan McKenzie, EdD, a senior associate dean of STEM programswith Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU).

Part of a skilled data analyst's roleis to identify errors in data. They do this by "cleaning" it. The process of cleaning data involves fixing or removing incorrect, corrupted, duplicate or incomplete data within a dataset, according to McKenzie. "Then data analysts change, update or remove incorrect data to correct any errors," she said. This process makes the new, clean data readable by software programs and more accessible to various stakeholders.

The process of cleaning and interpreting data requires a strong aptitude for math and statistics, as well as the ability to communicate findings in an accessible way. Many data analysts have a passion for statistics and visualizing data in a clear manner, McKenzie said.

A data analyst must be computer-savvy with a solid grasp of mathematics, statistics and computer science. They typically work full-time in an office or remotely, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Using computers is a key function of the job.

Other important functions of data analysts, according to BLS, include:

Data analysts can work in virtually any industry, according to BLS, but their skills are particularly in demand for businesses that require an active web presence. Any business that has new or constantly evolving business strategies needs robust data analysis as well.

Research created from data analysis can be used to support reports, academic journals, marketing efforts, sales or user engagement. Often, the data analysts will be the ones writing those reports, so sound written communication skills are vital.

Any business that uses data can benefit from a data analyst, according to McKenzie. The demand for this profession is widespread and growing.

Companies based in the computer and technology field have the greatest need for data analysts, according to BLS. Other areas in need of data analysts include:

Ask yourself if you have an aptitude for coding, engineering or computer science. Are you comfortable reviewing technical information and crafting messages or creating charts and reports to share that data? Do you enjoy math and statistics? If so, you likely already have the basis for a career in data analysis.

There are several technical skills necessary for being a successful data analyst. According to McKenzie, they are:

Technical skills are the foundation of data analysis, but certain interpersonal skills are also necessary for success in this highly technical field. According to McKenzie, these skills include:

Several levels of formal education can help you build a career in data analytics.

An associate degree in data analyticscan provide the foundational information you need to get your foot in the door. By using this degree as a starting point, you can learn the basic skills to build a career in data analytics. At the same time, youll earn valuable credits that can be transferred to a bachelors degree in a variety of STEM fieldsshould you choose.

With coursework in an associate degree, youll learn how to diagnose organizational problems and determine how to use data to solve those problems. Earning the degree could qualify you for a junior role in business analytics, business intelligence or as a data technician, said McKenzie.

While an associate degree is a great way to get started in the field of data analytics, a bachelors degree is generally required, at a minimum, according to BLS. A bachelors degree communicates to employers that you have the essential skills in computer programming, quantitative and qualitative data analytics methodsand data analytics standards and policies, among others.

Data analysts are in high demand, and employers want to know you have the skills to perform the job, McKenzie said. A bachelors degree helps show you have those skills.

A masters degree in data analyticscould also be required, depending on the role. A degree at this level shows that you have done the work to master skills in statistical modeling, data visualization and presentation and analyzing large data sets, among other skills.

A high level of mathematics and statistics is important for all degree levels in this field, as is working knowledge of some programming languages.

With advancements in technology, the size of data sets increases, and data management and database systems can require a great deal of expertise to understand and maintain. To stay competitive in the field, a data analyst must remain current in their discipline to ensure they're providing the best analysis of the data.

In addition to skills in mathematics and statistics, as well as earning a degree, certifications in data analytics are highly regarded by the industry, according to McKenzie.

The field is progressing and changing rapidly, she said. Remaining current in the discipline is highly desired. Earning professional certifications is an excellent way to continue your education even after earning a degree.

There are many available credentials to support a data analytics career, according to McKenzie. Several such credentials are:

If you're enrolled in a data analytics program, your school may offer you the chance to earn additional credentials as you move through your courses. SNHU, for instance, partnered with organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and uCertify to provide students with the ability to earn additional industry-relevant credentials. Some certifications and badges students at SNHU can earn include:

Ultimately, a professional credential provides current and future employers the opportunity to understand the skill level of the employee.

Data analysts typically spend their time collecting data, looking for patterns, creating visualizations and dashboards and writing reports, McKenzie said.

A lot of that work is done independently, but teamwork is an important part of the role as well. A data analyst typically works with many other teams in a company to ensure a proper understanding of the data, McKenzie said.

BLS notes that data analysts, often grouped with data scientists, typically work full-time. Because data analysis is so important to many businesses, its not uncommon for businesses to staff data analysts seven days a week.

A good example of a business that needs a data analyst seven days a week to support operations is the transportation industry, such as airlines. "With airlines, data is processed 24 hours a day, seven days a week to make operational decisions that are immediately implemented," said McKenzie.

This allows the organization to function without interruption, she said. In addition to making operational decisions, weekend data analysts may also work on their own projects or continue working on tasks started by other data analysts earlier in the week.

The career outlook for data analysts is strong. According to BLS, growth in the data science field is expected at 36% between 2021 and 2031, which is much faster than the national average.

The salary potential is strong as well. The average salary for data analysts is $83,557 per year, with a range from $74,787 and $93,484, according to Salary.com.

One benefit of the field of data analysis is the ability to apply your skills in virtually any career field due to rising demand for analytics professionals, according to McKenzie.

Analytics is a key factor in better decision-making for companies, she said. While the demand for analytics skills is steadily increasing, there's a huge deficit in skilled professionals.

This gap creates great opportunity for someone with an aptitude for mathematics, computer science or statistics.

Ever-changing advancements in technology provide countless opportunities to apply your skills for working with and interpreting data. While algorithms can provide information, the ability to interpret that information and present the story that it tells in a meaningful way is where the real value in data analytics comes in.

Regardless of advancements in technology, there remains the need for human insights to provide context and decision-making towards better business solutions, McKenzie said.

Ultimately, the intersection between scientific thinking, systems thinking and human problem-solving is where the work of a data analyst happens. Given the growth in this field and the wide array of businesses that need skilled data analysis, working as a data analyst can offer a satisfying career in virtually any industry.

You'll be able to use your strengths to help businesses move forward in achieving their mission. You'll hone expert-level communication skills. You'll be able to make a major impact on the area of business in which you choose to work. And, you'll be the hunter-gatherer of the data world, telling stories, solving problems and making businesses better one dataset at a time.

Ecuador’s Perez to review mining contracts suspected of polluting if … – Reuters Canada

[1/3]Ecuadorean presidential candidate Yaku Perez, wearing a bulletproof vest, gestures during a closing campaign rally, in Quito, Ecuador, August 17, 2023. REUTERS/Henry Romero Acquire Licensing Rights

QUITO, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Ecuadorean Indigenous presidential candidate Yaku Perez would revise mining concessions that do not comply with environmental and social rules and would ask creditors for breathing room amid spiking violence, he told Reuters in an interview.

More than 13 million Ecuadoreans are eligible to head to polls on Sunday in a contest that has been marred by the murder of anti-corruption candidate Fernando Villavicencio, highlighting sharply deteriorated security which the current government blames on drug traffickers.

Candidates have pledged to fight crime and improve the struggling economy, amid unemployment woes which have increased migration.

Mining is a top contributor to Ecuador's economy, but Perez, an erstwhile water activist, said late on Thursday he would ask the country's comptroller to review contracts suspected of polluting, to define their continuity under Ecuadorean law.

Ecuador has abundant mineral reserves, but has lagged behind regional neighbors like Peru and Chile in developing large-scale projects because of resistance from Indigenous communities and judicial decisions that have stymied development.

"If there are audits that say they are contaminating the environment, that they are poisoning water, that they haven't done prior consultations (with communities)...they will need to be revised," Perez said. "If they have complied with social and environmental licenses they will continue."

"We are not going to premeditatedly pursue (miners), but there must be responsibility," he said. "I respect legal guarantees."

He would also push a constitutional reform to bar mining in areas with lakes, rivers and other water sources, first by sending it to the national assembly, and then, in case of failure, to voters via a referendum.

Perez supports two environmental efforts also on the ballot on Sunday - one to shutter an oil block in a megadiverse part of the Amazon and a local bid to bar mining in a forest near Quito.

Perez, who was polling in the top five of eight candidates, said he would trace corrupt funds through an expert commission backed by the United Nations, which will review contracts from the last 20 years.

"If we correct the distortions, the corruption, if we charge taxes to the defaulters we won't need new loans," said Perez, who came a surprise third in elections in 2021.

He would approach Ecuador's multilateral creditors and bondholders to ask for payment extensions because of the difficult economic and security situation, he said.

"We have to tell them that this is a very difficult time to pay foreign debt, that we recognize them and will pay...but first allow me to get the country started on economic growth and a reduction in poverty."

Ecuador has leaned on international financing since its economy was battered by the COVID pandemic. The country concluded a credit agreement for $6.5 billion with the International Monetary Fund at the end of last year.

"We are in a spiral of violence: there is no work, there is no education, people are fleeing the country," he said. "Hopefully they will understand."

Perez pledged to make agriculture - not oil, the country's top source of income - Ecuador's economic driver, creating 500,000 jobs.

Better social programs and data-based security programs are also on his agenda if elected, he said.

"We must get back control of the borders where drugs come through, get back control of the Ecuadorean coasts where drugs leave and get back control of the prisons from which crimes are ordered," he said.

Here’s Why Calibre Mining (TSE:CXB) Can Manage Its Debt Responsibly – Simply Wall St

The external fund manager backed by Berkshire Hathaway's Charlie Munger, Li Lu, makes no bones about it when he says 'The biggest investment risk is not the volatility of prices, but whether you will suffer a permanent loss of capital.' So it seems the smart money knows that debt - which is usually involved in bankruptcies - is a very important factor, when you assess how risky a company is. We can see that Calibre Mining Corp. (TSE:CXB) does use debt in its business. But should shareholders be worried about its use of debt?

Debt assists a business until the business has trouble paying it off, either with new capital or with free cash flow. In the worst case scenario, a company can go bankrupt if it cannot pay its creditors. However, a more frequent (but still costly) occurrence is where a company must issue shares at bargain-basement prices, permanently diluting shareholders, just to shore up its balance sheet. By replacing dilution, though, debt can be an extremely good tool for businesses that need capital to invest in growth at high rates of return. The first thing to do when considering how much debt a business uses is to look at its cash and debt together.

Check out our latest analysis for Calibre Mining

You can click the graphic below for the historical numbers, but it shows that as of June 2023 Calibre Mining had US$15.4m of debt, an increase on none, over one year. However, it does have US$76.9m in cash offsetting this, leading to net cash of US$61.5m.

Zooming in on the latest balance sheet data, we can see that Calibre Mining had liabilities of US$66.0m due within 12 months and liabilities of US$156.0m due beyond that. Offsetting this, it had US$76.9m in cash and US$8.03m in receivables that were due within 12 months. So its liabilities total US$137.2m more than the combination of its cash and short-term receivables.

While this might seem like a lot, it is not so bad since Calibre Mining has a market capitalization of US$491.7m, and so it could probably strengthen its balance sheet by raising capital if it needed to. But we definitely want to keep our eyes open to indications that its debt is bringing too much risk. While it does have liabilities worth noting, Calibre Mining also has more cash than debt, so we're pretty confident it can manage its debt safely.

And we also note warmly that Calibre Mining grew its EBIT by 16% last year, making its debt load easier to handle. When analysing debt levels, the balance sheet is the obvious place to start. But it is future earnings, more than anything, that will determine Calibre Mining's ability to maintain a healthy balance sheet going forward. So if you want to see what the professionals think, you might find this free report on analyst profit forecasts to be interesting.

Finally, a company can only pay off debt with cold hard cash, not accounting profits. Calibre Mining may have net cash on the balance sheet, but it is still interesting to look at how well the business converts its earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) to free cash flow, because that will influence both its need for, and its capacity to manage debt. In the last three years, Calibre Mining created free cash flow amounting to 7.5% of its EBIT, an uninspiring performance. That limp level of cash conversion undermines its ability to manage and pay down debt.

Although Calibre Mining's balance sheet isn't particularly strong, due to the total liabilities, it is clearly positive to see that it has net cash of US$61.5m. And it impressed us with its EBIT growth of 16% over the last year. So we are not troubled with Calibre Mining's debt use. When analysing debt levels, the balance sheet is the obvious place to start. However, not all investment risk resides within the balance sheet - far from it. For example, we've discovered 1 warning sign for Calibre Mining that you should be aware of before investing here.

If you're interested in investing in businesses that can grow profits without the burden of debt, then check out this free list of growing businesses that have net cash on the balance sheet.

Find out whether Calibre Mining is potentially over or undervalued by checking out our comprehensive analysis, which includes fair value estimates, risks and warnings, dividends, insider transactions and financial health.
