A crypto analyst, Pledditor shared the post revealing that r/CryptoCurrency moderators sold their MOON tokens before the public announcement of Reddit winding down community points on October 17.

Pledditor claims that MOON price dropped nearly 22% minutes before the official public announcement.

The post stated that three moderators u/Mcgillby, u/rider_of_the_storm and u/IHaventEvenGotADog combined sold their MOON holding on insider information in different transactions. It also shares that some of the moderator selling took place immediately after the announcement.

Pledditor also stated proof that moderators were informed about Reddits decision an hour before.

According to Coinmarketcap data, MOON is currently down more than 80% compared to its pre-announcement price.

Bengaluru: A father-son duo allegedly duped approximately 1,400 people out of Rs 6 crore by luring them to invest in a non-existent cryptocurrency, according to the police.

The two, in partnership with another person, operated GG Online Private Ltd on Sampige Road, Malleswaram. They targeted potential investors, promoting a new-age cryptocurrency named GGO, named after their company. They also advertised this product on social media.

They assured potential investors that GGO would soon be available on cryptocurrency exchanges and could rival the value of Bitcoin, promising lucrative returns to those who got in early.

Central Crime Branch (CCB) investigations indicate that the firm amassed between Rs 5-6 crore from about 1,200-1,400 individuals. However, the catch was that the cryptocurrency GGO did not exist.

In a bid to gain trust, the trio offered an additional 15% return on the initial investments to early investors, resulting in positive word-of-mouth that attracted even more investors.

The police suspect that after accumulating a significant amount, the suspects ceased payments to investors. Many did not even receive their initial investments back.

It was eventually unveiled that GGO was either non-existent or worthless if it did exist. The CCB asserts it was a scheme that preyed on unsuspecting investors.

Acting on complaints, CCB officials apprehended the suspects identified as Satish, his son Srikanth, and associate Deepak.

Astrus wants to cut down the time-consuming analog microchip design process.

Toronto-based Astrus, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to speed up the microchip design process, has announced $2.63 million USD ($3.6 million CAD) in funding to date with significant backing by Khosa Ventures.

Founded in January by CEO Brad Moon and CTO Zeyi Wang, Astrus initially raised $275,000 USD ($376,000 CAD) in February, and secured an additional $2.4 million USD ($3.3 million CAD) in September.

The startup is looking to apply AI to the microchip design process, which it says contains two parts: digital and analog circuits. While the digital design process is largely automated, Astrus says its application of AI will speed up the time-consuming process of designing analog microchip layouts.

Astrus has a team of advisors that includes former Samsung vice president of semiconductors JD Lau, former GlobalFoundries CTO Pirooz Parvarandeh, and co-founder of Untether AI Raymond Chik.

Having built the bulk of my career on analog and custom IC design for three decades, I know first-hand the [insatiable] need to improve the efficiency of making circuit layouts, Chik said in a statement. Astrus application of deep reinforcement learning may finally be the solution to the sought-after layout problem

Chik contributed $15,000 USD to Astrus $275,000 USD raise in February, which was co-led by Khosa Ventures and 1517 Funds respective $100,000 USD investments, and additional participation from RiSC Capital.

Khosa Ventures invested al $1.5 million USD more into Astrus in September. Other participants in the September fundraise include HOF Capital, MVP Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and Plug and Play Ventures.

Astrus declined to disclose the breakdown of equity and debt in the transactions, as well as the companys post-money valuation.

The company says its platform can read schematics and required parameters from a microchip designers software and database. Designers can tell Astrus what to prioritize, import a pin map, and request a certain number of unique layouts. Astrus then delivers optimized layouts in minutes to hours, following which a designer can make tweaks as needed.

Astrus says the microchip design process is usually a back-and-forth process between design teams that can take weeks to complete.

Moon came to Astrus after working directly under Applyboard CEO Martin Basiri. Moon says he led early product discovery for ApplyBoard, while Wang previously worked in a research group that laid the foundations for AlphaGo, the first computer program to defeat a professional human Go player.

Astrus is looking to use the funding to hire additional members to its team, including a product designer, software engineer, and an analog-integrated circuit designer.

No better time to renegotiate the same in a rather polarised global environment that is making it essential for countries to put their own interests and priorities before mere plain political alignments. Only last month the conference on international science, technology and innovation hosted by the Forum saw countries calling instead for a revised focus on instead moving towards evolving a community of innovation. Meaning, that a shift is the sought by the belt & road partners from infrastructure and taxing power plants towards cooperation and technology transfers in science, technology and innovation. Climate change has today become a climate crisis and to address this challenge of global warming the transition needs to be away from simple physical connectivity to digital, economic, social and cultural connectivity - And science, technology & innovation permeate through all forms of connectivities.The idea being for the B&R to have a budget for resources of research and development to help financially weaker countries supplement their smaller spends in this area. This also goes on to help the overall objective to ensure that connectivity takes place smoothly by encouraging the movement of goods & services - by trains, road and sea - in good quality, efficiently and transparently with the help of modern day technology. Also, important now would be the free flow of people across borders to become truly entrenched in a common cum shared work place. For example, while every country may have its own data on vaccination or verified skills of its workers and professionals, but this now needs to developed collectively for all partners to access and benefit from. The other important platform that is under discussion is to achieve From AlphaGO to Chat GPT. Referring to how to capitalise on artificial intelligence (AI) in a responsible manner. The strongest Swiss event of the year is around the corner. On the scenic Isle of Man, the first round starts on 25 October, and in the next twelve days we will witness a magnificent chess spectacle full of fierce battles. The Grand Swiss is a pivotal part of the FIDE World Championship cycle. Its democratic nature attracts players from all over the world, giving them a chance to qualify for the Candidates Tournament.

Two coveted spots in the open event and two in the womens tournament lead to Toronto, where next spring the FIDE Candidates Tournament and the FIDE Womens Candidates Tournament will take place. This is a chance to write ones name in chess history, a chance that in the past was available only to a selected few.

114 players will participate in the open section (see full list).

The list of favourites includes Fabiano Caruana, who has already qualified for Toronto from the World Cup in Baku; Hikaru Nakamura, who will seek a return to the Candidates that went so well for him (except for the last round) last year in Madrid; Alireza Firouzja, the winner of the previous Grand Swiss in Riga; Anish Giri, who desperately wants another shot at the title after his last Candidates appearance in 2020/21 in Yekaterinburg; Gukesh D, who at 17 entered the top 10 and became Indias number one after 37 years of Anands domination. These are only the top five on the starting list, but you should check the full list and pick your own favourites!

The Grand Swiss is also a part of the FIDE Circuit, and it adds another twist to the tournament intrigue. The winner of the FIDE Circuit will qualify for the Candidates Tournament, and there is an intense battle underway for the top spot. The current leader of the Circuit, Fabiano Caruana, has already qualified, so second placed Gukesh D and third placed Anish Giri, the two players who have a reasonable chance of winning it, will try to do their best in this event.

Chess.coms top event for women, the $70,000 Julius Baer Womens Speed Chess Championship, is back next month and this time with a big-name sponsor and six of the strongest players on the planet.

Defending champion GM Kateryna Lagno and the near-legendary GM Hou Yifan, the world number-one for eight years and last years runner-up, have confirmed they will resume their speed chess rivalry.

Both will battle it out in the main event from November 13 to 22, which is supported by the Swiss private bank Julius Baer.

The stellar lineup also includes the highly-decorated GMs Alexandra Kosteniuk and Valentina Gunina. Kosteniuk and Gunina are two of the finest and fastest women players, and both former champions.

Indias GM Harika Dronavalli, the runner up to Hou in 2021, will also return alongside fellow countrywoman IM Vaishali Rameshbabu, the fast-rising 22-year-old from Chennai and sister of the prodigy GM Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu.

Here's what happened in last year's dramatic final:

Two more spots are available from what promises to be an exciting qualification event, open to all titled women, from November 8 to 9. This year, however, the format for the first stage is slightly different.

The Julius Baer Womens Speed Chess Championship is being brought into line with the Speed Chess Championship and the Junior Speed Chess Championship which means the qualifier will see a 14-round Swiss on day one followed by a top-8 double elimination bracket on the second day.

The winner of each bracket on day two will advance from the qualifier to the main event. Play will begin at 9 a.m. ET / 15:00 CEST / 18:30 IST on both days.

The main event starting November 13 will see an eight-player single elimination bracket, with seedings determined by a Chess.com panel. The six players listed above have been directly invited, and will be joined by the two qualifiers.

All matches will be played over 5+1, 3+1 and 1+1 time controls. The exact schedule will be confirmed later.
