Ann Coulter: The FBI wing of BLM | Opinion | marshallnewsmessenger.com – Marshall News Messenger

Republicans, can you stop screaming like hyenas at every little indignity suffered by our former president? Donald Trump wouldnt lift a finger to help you.

Yes, it was asinine for the FBI to stage a raid on Mar-a-Lago when we all know the only documents Trump wanted were his letters and photos with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. (North Korea has nukes. See? Nuclear documents.) Trump needs those for his scrapbook, to accompany the photos of him with Kim Kardashian, Mark Zuckerberg and Sean Hannity.

Still, the raid isnt going to affect your life. It barely affected Trumps. He was golfing in New Jersey at the time.

You want to be mad at the FBI? This is why you should be angry. Rather than fight crime, the agency has turned itself into the wingman for Defund the Police. That could get you and your family killed.

Consider how they treated the cops in Louisville, Kentucky, who risked their lives trying to serve a search warrant on a major fentanyl dealers moll, Breonna Taylor, on March 13, 2020. The true story was discussed in last weeks column, as well as my Dec. 16, 2020, column.

Heres the rest of the story, as told by Sgt. John Mattingly in his book, 12 Seconds in the Dark.

In the spring of 2020, as the defenseless officers were being smeared by Oprah, LeBron James, Cardi B., Beyonce, Common, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Demi Lovato, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Schumer, Ice Cube, Diddy, Kamala Harris, the entire MSNBC on-air talent, and on and on a confidential informant revealed that a hit had been put on the officers by two black motorcycle clubs, No Haterz and STR8 RYDERZ.

And heres something random: Breonnas mother was dating the president of one of the clubs.

A few weeks later, the ATF received information that the clubs Chicago chapter would be driving to Louisville that weekend to kill the officers. The targeted cops were given security and a description of the cars and motorcycles coming for them.

What happened next would force the officers to flee and live in hiding for the rest of their lives, thanks to the inaction of the FBI.

Heres how Sgt. Mattingly describes it: On May 31, 2020, I was told the FBI corroborated two separate threats from different sources. We received a call at 10 p.m. asking us to pack our bags and leave our house. We had to sell our house that we lived in for six weeks and have been in hiding ever since.

It seems a $50,000 bounty had been put on the heads of the officers. Breonnas birthday would have been that Friday. As part of the balloon release celebrating the occasion, the organizers wanted to have something to celebrate. To wit: Dead cops.

At least the FBI had the officers backs! No, Im sorry, the FBI Trumps FBI sided with the guys whod put a bounty on the cops heads. The agency dropped the case after a remarkably short 2 1/2 weeks, announcing implausibly that the informant was unreliable.

Well, hed proven reliable in the past. The informant was, even then, being used in another active case. And of course, no one at FBI headquarters had bothered talking to him. But so desperate was the FBI to close the case that it was willing to blow up one of its own informants: Once ruled unreliable, a source can never be used in another federal case.

Mattingly says the FBI refused to investigate credible threats on the officers lives because of the optics of going after a mother in a nationally sensitive case. Shouldnt it be the reverse: The FBI must investigate because Breonnas mother was affiliated with a club planning to murder the cops whom she blamed for her daughters death? (In fact, Breonna died because her good pal Kenneth Walker shot at the police. Ironically, a no-knock warrant the officers knocked and yelled, POLICE! would have saved her life.)

Local FBI agents in Louisville were enraged. Asked what the targeted cops were supposed to do, the FBI bosses said: Tell them to relocate. Two weeks later, Mattingly had to watch as the FBI sent 15 agents to investigate a racist rope in Bubba Wallaces stall at NASCAR.

Right-wingers, save your breath defending the most disloyal man alive. Do something useful and get a job at the FBI. Just be sure to put BLM on your resume! The next Republican president (Ron DeSantis) is going to need a lot of help.

XenData kit takes tape copies of cloud archives Blocks and Files – Blocks and Files

Archiving system supplier XenData has launched an appliance which makes a local tape copy of a public cloud archive to save on geo-replication and egress fees.

XenDatas CX-10 Plus is a networked rackmount box containing an SSD system drive and a 14TB disk drive cache. Its system software sends incoming data out to the public cloud and retains a local synchronized copy of the cloud archive files on LTO tape cartridges.

CEO Phil Store stated: The CX-10 Plus has two key benefits. Creating a local synchronized copy of every file written to the cloud gives peace of mind. And the Appliance easily pays for itself by minimizing cloud storage fees.

Thats because having the local tape copy of the archive means customers dont have to pay public cloud geo-replication fees and, with restores coming from local tape, they dont have to pay public cloud egress fees either. The CX-10 Plus pricing starts from $11,995, which doesnt cover the necessary tape appliance two managed LTO drives or an LTO autoloader.

The systems data flow starts with one or more users sending it files for archiving. They land on a 14TB disk drive. A multi-threaded archive process then writes the data to the public cloud AWS S3 (Glacier Flexible Retrieval, Deep Glacier), Azure Blob (Hot, Cool and Archive tiers), Wasabi S3, and Seagate Lyve.

All archive files uploaded to the cloud are retained on the disk cache for a defined retention period, typically a day; the disk is not that big. Every few hours the files are synchronized to LTO creating a mirror copy of the file-folder structure that has been archived to the cloud.

XenData says the CX-10 Plus is optimized for media archives enabling users to play video files directly from the cloud. It integrates with many media applications including Media Asset Management systems.

The CX-10 Plus fits into XenDatas appliance range:

An S3 object storage interface may be added to any XenData LTO Appliance via a software upgrade. This creates a private cloud that competes with public cloud storage services such as AWS Glacier and the Archive Tier of Azure object storage.

XenData was started in 2001 and has a headquarters office in Walnut Creek, California, and an outlying office in Cambridge, UK. The CX-10 Plus will be available in September.

AWS Preps ‘Bastion’ Cloud Service for Advertisers – The Information

Amazon Web Services is preparing to unveil a cloud service to help companies improve the way they target ads to potential customers without violating data privacy laws, according to three people with knowledge of the product. The move comes as advertisers try to recover from, and get ahead of, Apples and Googles restrictions on their ability to track consumers online.

The new AWS service, Bastion, is known in tech industry parlance as a data clean room. It lets multiple companies pool data they have on existing or potential customers without any of them being able to view the entire pool. The idea is to protect the identity of customers, both for privacy reasons and out of competitive concerns. In these metaphorical rooms, companies pooling datafor instance, a retailer like Target and a streaming service that sells ads, such as HBO Max or Hulucould see how much overlap there is between their respective customers and use that to determine whether Target should target new or repeat customers through ads on the streaming services.

Should I buy Siacoin (SC) at the current price? – Invezz

Siacoin (SC) has weakened from $0.0052 to $0.038 since August 11, 2022, and the current price stands at $0.0039.

The cryptocurrency market tumbled this Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powells hawkish speech at the Jackson Hole conference in Wyoming, and for now, everything indicates that we could see new lows.

Are you looking for fast-news, hot-tips and market analysis? Sign-up for the Invezz newsletter, today.

Siacoin (SC) is a decentralized platform for cloud storage that allows any computer running it to rent out unused hard drive space to users looking to store files.

Because of this, Siacoin is branded as an AirBnB for hard drives, and it is important to say that Siacoin ensures that all data is protected against censorship theft and the users are never denied access to the data by miners, hackers, government bodies, or developers.

Siacoin network is secured by blockchain technology, and files stored through the Sia network are encrypted and sliced into tiny pieces.

Siacoin is not the only cryptocurrency project seeking to disrupt the storage market, and it faces competition from other decentralized cloud storage systems like Filecoin, Storj, and MaidSafe.

Despite this, Siacoin is still among the most popular service networks of its kind, and it resolves some of the most common problems in the sector of cloud storage, including hacking risks, high costs for renting storage, data control, and data mismanagement.

SC is the native cryptocurrency of the Siacoin network, and those looking to store files must buy and spend SC tokens in order to store files. SC is the only currency that can be spent within the network, and investors should consider that SC doesnt have a finite supply, which means that new SC can be mined infinitely.

Technically looking, Siacoin (SC) remains under pressure, and if you decide to buy this cryptocurrency in September 2022, you should consider that the price can weaken even more.

The cryptocurrency market tumbled this Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powells said at the Jackson Hole conference in Wyoming that the US central bank would not pause its campaign to bring price growth down.

The rising risks of the recession and the uncertainty because of the Russian-Ukrainian war remain in the focus of investors, and we will probably see new lows for the cryptocurrency market in the days ahead.

Siacoin (SC) currently trades around the $0.0039 level, but it would be a strong sell signal if the price falls below $0.0030 support.

The next price target could be around $0.0025 or even below; still, if the price jumps above $0.0060, we have the open way to $0.0070.

Siacoin (SC) is a decentralized platform for cloud storage that allows anyone to rent out spare hard drive space or utilize other peoples spare hard drive space to store files. The cryptocurrency market tumbled this Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powells hawkish speech at the Jackson Hole conference in Wyoming, and for now, everything indicates that we could see new lows for Siacoin (SC).

How to share large files for free and with encryption – Gearrice

Share large files Its something weve all had to do at some point. And there are many ways to do it. employing physical formats or directly via Internet. Precisely, today there are a number of services, free and paidwhich are used to store files of different sizes or only to share them temporarily.

Whether its a photo album, a video, a picture-packed presentation, or a collection of documents, there are tons of ways to send them to someone without cluttering their inbox or reaching for a memory card or thumb drive. The services we recommend below are intended to be agile, simple and comfortable. And, by the way, secure by encryption.

You choose what you want to share, upload it to the chosen service, indicate who to send it to or you generate a link to share and, finally, you share said link. No more. No prior registration or checkout. Although you have that possibility if you require additional features. Lets see the most suitable if you dont want complications.

If Dropbox was the first to offer online storage, WeTransfer was the first to bet on share large files temporarily. It is not about keeping those files for a long time. Only long enough so that whoever has to receive them can download them and voila.

As simple as accepting their terms of service, upload the file in question and send it. To do this, you will only have to indicate the email address that will receive the download link and a message so that the person in question know its you Who sent you that file? Best of all, you have to register. And you can send free up to 2 GB.

If you want to send up to 200 GB or more, you will have to go through the checkout. By monthly subscription. To the paid version we must add more functions such as a password or a specific expiration date for the uploaded file. But pay or not for WeTransferby default the files disappear after 7 days. And for your safety, use TLS encryption Y AES-256.

On this occasion, pCloud Transfer is another service to share large files temporarily. Although it also offers its own cloud storage. But in the case that concerns us, without registration and free of charge we will have the possibility of send up to 5GB per file.

Then its a matter of choosing if you want to get a download link and share it however you want or send an email with that link to the address you set up. Accompanied by your own address and a message. Nothing more than that. Perfect for occasional file sharing.

Optionally, you can encrypt the file by clicking on Encrypt your Files. This will allow you to add a password. Needed to download the file. For the rest, both pCloud What pCloud Transfer they employ AES 256-bit encryption during and after the transfer. That and TLS/SSL protection.

With the same philosophy of simple, comfortable and free, Transfer Now offers us to share large files of up to 5 GB per transfer. Theyll be avalaible for 7 days and then they will disappear from their servers. And for extra security, transfers are done over HTTPS and you can include a password. All of that for free.

The shipping process is the same as the previous services. The page itself explains it in three steps. first you select what files to send. Then you fill in the form to generate the link to share or send it by email to one or more people at a time. And finally, start the transfer and wait to upload the file and send the link to download it.

One of the most recommended services to share large files is Smash, service that I talked about in a previous article. Available in an online version and also with its own mobile applications, it stands out for several reasons.

First because it is as simple as the previous tools. You upload the file or folder, choose where to send it and thats it. But, in addition, it turns out that you can send files the size you want. As it is. Unlimited. The fine print? If the file is larger than 2 GB it will be in a download queue. The only drawback is that this will make it possible for the file to take longer to download. But that will depend on many factors.

In addition to the no size limit, and no need to register, it has a preview of images, videos and/or audios. Also will notify you if it has been received the email and the file has been downloaded. And if youre worried about securityoffers protection with passwordencrypted with SSL/TLS and AES 256-bit.

From Valencia comes Internet Senda practical, fast and secure system for share large files up to 5 GB. You upload it, share the link, or send it by email, and you can forget about it. All from the web browser, available for any connected device.

And if what you want is to keep your files longer in the cloud, you can use its main service. For free, it gives you the right to store up to 10 GB. And if you need more space, you can contract 20 GB, 200 GB or 2 TB. In all cases, the files are encrypted.

As a curiosity, Internxt and Internet Send They use a blockchain or block chain system, which implies encrypting information in a decentralized manner. That is to say, what is private and secure. Whats more, when you upload the file, it is automatically encrypted before uploading. To do this, it uses the AES 256-bit algorithm. You will find more information at this link.

Most reliable hard drives in the world – MyBroadband

Backblaze has released its Drive Stats report for the second quarter of 2022, giving useful data on the performance of the hard drives it uses in data centres across the world.

By the end of June 2022, Backblaze was monitoring 219,444 hard drives and SSDs in its data centres.

The company removed 4,020 boot drives and 413 drives that were used for testing purposes or did not meet monitoring parameters, ending up with a total of 215,011 drives in its sample.

The cloud storage and backup company measured reliability using an annualised failure rate (AFR) for each drive.

AFR is calculated using the number of drive failures relative to the number of active drive days for each disk.

Backblazes report shows five drive models that recorded zero failures during the second quarter:

The WDC 16TB drive (model: WUH721816ALE6L4) is the only device with one recorded drive failure.

Backblaze said the Toshiba 4TB drive (model: MD04ABA400V) is the second oldest drive in their sample, sitting at an average age of 86.7 months.

Despite its age, the 4TB Toshiba had no failures in Q2, with the last failure recorded in Q2 2021.

The previous most reliable drive was Seagates 6TB (model: ST6000DX000), which recorded its first failure since Q3 2021.

Given this is the oldest drive model in our fleet with an average age of 86.7 months of service, a failure or two is expected, Backblaze said.

The company said the 4TB Seagate drives with an average age of 80.3 months had consistent increases in quarterly failure rate over the last four quarters to 3.42% in Q2 2022.

After accounting for a minimum drive days number of one million, Backblazes simplified lifetime hard drive failure rate table showed the drives with the highest AFRs.

The three drives with the highest lifetime annualised failure rates are as follows:

The table below shows the most reliable mechanical hard drives as monitored by Backblaze in Q2 2022.

Child Prodigy and Grand Master R Praggnanandhaa beat World No. 1 GM Carlesen in the tournaments that took place in Miami recently.

The boy is barely 17 and he ranks No 2 in the world, already! He has five wins, two draws and one loss against the world chess champion, GM Carlsen. Grand Master R Praggnanandhaa is India's pride and here's what his father Rameshbabu told various media outlets about the boy's routine -- all in a humble and matter-of-fact manner.

As per their dad - the young Grandmaster Praggnanandhaa and his elder sister Woman GM (WGM) R Vaishali lead almost a sort of an ascetic's and the mother R Nagalakshmi told IANS that the brother-sister duo are "talking and breathing chess while avoiding other diversions". That's seen amply in the un fuzzled manner in which Praggnanandhaa plays, he does not allow his confidence to fluctuate, irrespective of who his opponent is.

10 habits of chess champion Praggnanandhaa:

A normal childhood for the child prodigies: Both Rameshbabu and his wife Nagalakshmi treat their children normally. "He might be a Grandmaster in chess, but, for me, he is always my little boy and I treat him as such," Rameshbabu told IANS.

Quantum: The Tech Race Europe Can’t Afford to Lose – PR Newswire

PARIS, Aug. 25, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Investments in quantum reached all-time record highs in 2021 and are predicted to continue rising significantly, with multiple existing industries set to benefit and new industries likely to be created. Boston Consulting Group (BCG), one of the world's leading management consulting firms, today published new research highlighting the scale and pace of global quantum computing, titled, Can Europe Catch Up With the US (and China) in Quantum Computing?

While the US is a clear frontrunner on quantum computing patents, venture capital, and volume of talent, the BCG report finds that the EU currently leads the way in terms of public investment. However, the EU lacks a coherent plan of action to coordinate individual Member State activities, has an underdeveloped private capital market prepared to invest in late-stage quantum businesses, and is not developing sufficient quantum computing talent to meet anticipated demand. BCG's report highlights that the US currently has between two and three times more quantum talent in the business world than does the EU.

Without urgent action, the report shows, the EU risks repeating mistakes made in the semiconductor industry. Europe, together with the UK and China, is currently well-positioned in a trio of pursuers that are chasing the US (see exhibit). The EU is among leaders in public action in quantum and has put in place plans such as the Quantum Flagship, coordinating research efforts across multiple industries, and running pilot educational projects to give a direction to the developing ecosystem.

So what does the EU need to do to avoid repeating the mistakes it made more than a decade ago in failing to scale a continental semiconductor industry?

"The EU has all the ingredients needed to succeed in the quantum race but needs to rapidly develop and deliver a comprehensive plan to turn potential into action," says Franois Candelon, a managing director and senior partner at BCG, and coauthor of the report. "Europe's history when dealing with tech revolutions has too often been characterized by early promise, failure to scale at critical moments, and then an expensive attempt to catch up. Policymakers need to learn those lessons fast. The good news is that the window is still open to create and execute a European strategy, building public and private capital powerhouses to invest in and scale European universities' ability to train the next generation of quantum experts."

An Action Plan for Europe

BCG's report maps an action plan for Europe to maintain quantum sovereignty:

Quantum Sovereignty

The COVID-19 crisis highlighted Europe's capability to design and manufacture at scale new vaccines that proved essential to controlling the impact of the pandemic on the continent. Conversely, the lack of in-house European manufacturing capabilities for advanced semiconductors showed its dependence on a global supply chain. According to BCG estimates, the chip crisis prevented the production of around 10 million vehicles, which was particularly impactful for Europe, home to major automobile manufacturers.

Quantum will impact multiple industries central to a country's competitiveness and sovereignty such as aerospace, defense, pharma, and chemicals. If Europe wants to maintain its global relevance as well as self-sufficiency in key economic areas, it must ensure access and master quantum capabilities in all stages of the supply chain, from R&D to manufacturing and end applications.
