2023 Celebration of Science set for Oct. 19-20 | News | School TWU – Texas Woman’s University

Oct. 11, 2023 DENTON The annual Celebration of Science will be held Oct. 19-20 in the Scientific Research Commons and theAnn Stuart Science Complex on the Texas Woman's University campus.

The Celebration of Science honors the four divisions of TWU's School of Sciences: biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer sciences, and mathematics.

This year's celebration begins with the alumni reception on Thursday evening, Oct. 19, on the first floor of the SRC. Registration for this event is required.Click here to register.

Friday's speakers include three TWU alumna and three current TWU professors. There will also be student discussions with Emily Arellano from mathematics, Bethany Lazarus from informatics, Kiran Hina Tajuddin from biology, and Derek Aguilar from chemistry.

This year's Celebration of Science is in honor of Richard Sheardy, PhD, of the TWU division of chemistry and biochemistry as a tribute to his distinguished career and long time support of women in science.

On Friday, Oct. 20, the celebration moves to the ASSC. After a continental breakfast, speakers will begin making their presentations. Among the topics:
