Microsoft Office Users On Mac Gets New Cloud Storage Integrations – Infostor magazine

Microsoft has introduced a new update that puts the Connected Accounts option in the position of the previous Add a Place option available in the Open menu. Moreover, the updates primary function remains the same and is currently only available to MS Office Insiders testers. Microsofts option to add, as well as remove, any cloud storage account is not new, however, the interface now resembles the MS office app on smartphones.

Users that have a subscription to Microsofts Office Insider program can check out the updated interface on their systems. Office Insider program by Microsoft is a special service that offers users early access to any feature introduced in the MS office software lineup, such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and others. This subscription-based model helps Microsoft in constant development, as well as offers great support for Googles cloud storage plus deep collaborative options.

MS Office used to work well with a cloud storage service installed on your system, however, the new cloud storage updates for Mac might be an improvement for some users.

When accessing MS Office on your Mac, there is a Add a Place option on the top of the initial window screen that lets users connect their OneDrive, as well as SharePoint accounts.

This feature helps access your documents stored online and removes the requirement for downloading extra cloud sync options on the PC or laptop.

Moreover, the most important factor is that the MS Office will upload any changes you make back to the linked cloud account.

Other Updates

Microsoft even has set up Box cloud storage support and will continue to do so for other third-party cloud storage services in the future.

This year, Microsoft also celebrated OneDrives 15th anniversary and introduced a new redesign plus features. As a result, the new OneDrive landing page helps users keep track of their work efficiently. It includes filters, a list of accessed files, an Activity column, a Quick access section, and much more. The changes are not yet rolled out and will be introduced sometime this year.

Integrating reliable cloud storage with MS office promotes seamless collaborations, provides a simplified workflow, plus offers frictionless security. All of such factors are crucial for a smooth flow of information and hassle-free sharing of data from your online cloud storage. The new Connected Accounts update is visible in MS office Version 16.64 (22082100) and later.

Microsoft is waiting to remove and fix all the technical bugs, plus is ensuring the interface is easy to use before sending it out for Mac MS Office users. Currently, there is no major announcement of when the Windows MS Office version will also obtain this update.
