In conjunction with software giant Microsoft's announcement of Windows Server 2012, technology solutions provider HP has expanded its Converged Cloud portfolio with a joint private cloud initiative to help Malaysian enterprises along the private journey.

HP Malaysia country manager, industry standard servers (ISS), Vincent Lee said the HP and Microsoft Joint Private Cloud option has optimised, preintegrated solutions based on a deep joint technology development curve, which offers one-stop-shop life cycle sales and support.

Lee said that local organisations were drawn by the possibilities of flexibility and financial benefits of cloud computing but needed options to help them get started quickly while addressing risk areas such as data loss, security and vendor lock-in.

"By providing a clear, proven path along with a single-vendor client experience, HP and Microsoft are greatly simplifying and accelerating the evolution to cloud computing," he said.

"As customers move to private clouds, they are looking for a simplified approach that minimises risks, increases their flexibility and allows for greater cost savings," said Lee. "Through this relationship with Microsoft, we're providing customers with a trusted, single-source experience to provide them an easy on-ramp to cloud."
