Morphlabs Launches First All Solid State Drive (SSD) Cloud Platform based on Dell Technology

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Morphlabs, the leader in converged Dynamic Infrastructure Services for the enterprise, today announced the first end-to-end SSD cloud platform for data centers, service providers and global enterprise customers. Morphlabs mCloud Data Center Unit (DCU) will be powered by the Dell PowerEdge C portfolio, the hyperscale server line developed by the Dell Data Center Solutions (DCS) team.

The mCloud DCU is delivered in the breakthrough mCloud Service Provider or Enterprise Rack, the most price performant converged private cloud platform for delivering and managing IT resources via on-premises or hosted private cloud. With support from Dell, Morphlabs brings to market the first all-SSD converged infrastructure platform, enabling enterprises to deploy and launch applications significantly faster. Already optimized by the sophisticated orchestration capabilities of mClouds technology, the mCloud platforms innovative use of SSD technology allows for exponentially higher performance with an increase in input/output operations per second (IOPs) of up to 10 times. The mCloud Racks revolutionary modular architecture makes SAN-speed, durable-storage affordable with a significantly lower power footprint.

The enterprise today requires best-of-breed technologies that deliver unmatched performance and efficiency. Morphlabs has successfully pre-integrated compute, storage and networking into its mCloud solutions, said Steve Cumings, executive director of Dell DCS. Were thrilled they chose the power of Dells PowerEdge C5220 microserver as the basis of their converged platform for running mission-critical applications.

By leveraging Dell technology, Morphlabs has access to highly-efficient, globally-available servers designed for extreme power and space efficiency. This complete pre-integrated solution dramatically accelerates time-to-market and reduces costs and complexity by allowing customers to deploy dynamic private cloud solutions within weeks.

Were excited to work with Dell, the leader in hyperscale computing, said Winston Damarillo, CEO, Morphlabs. At Morphlabs, our goal is to redefine and revolutionize the world of converged private cloud infrastructure and make blazing fast, dedicated private cloud possible for our customers all over the world. With the Dell PowerEdge C Series platform, we have the largest amount of processing power directly attached to storage, allowing us to eliminate traditional SANs.

Dell PowerEdge C servers are designed to maximize compute power and minimize space and energy usage to lower operational costs. They are purpose-built for high-performance computing, Web 2.0, data analytics, hosting and cloud building. In addition, Dell DCS also provides Morphlabs with the ability to execute globally and the platform is now deployed in the U.S., Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.

The market for cloud is starting to see tremendous growth in our region, and our search for a solution that would help us serve current demand while scaling to meet future growth brought us to Morphlabs, said Singgih Tjahjono, president director at Pratesis. The converged mCloud Rack gives us a high-performance private cloud platform at a price point that will help us remain competitive.

As a data center company that needs to manage multiple data centers in the Western United States, Alchemy Communications, Inc. is glad to be able to partner with Morphlabs, Inc. in expanding our fully managed cloud offering, said Zane Alsabery, CEO, Alchemy Communications, Inc. By working closely with Morphlabs, Alchemy has a partner that helps us stay current with the most advanced cloud technologies. Alchemy is excited about the prospect of being one of the first data center companies to offer our customers an all-SSD cloud offering in conjunction with Morphlabs powered by Dell.
